How do I copy music into my itunes from my shared folder and then move...

...them without having to search for them? Ok so before my computer crashed I had itunes and Limewire. I would download files from limewire and it would go straight into my "shared" folder. I would then add the recently downloaded music into my itunes by the adding a folder option. Then I would move all of the music into a folder called "my music". This allowed me to download more music into the shared folder and add the folder to my itunes library without duplicating previous songs.
Now whenever I try to move the songs from shared to my music it will let me but when I try to play the songs on itunes i have to search for them within my folders. How can I do this so that I can move around the files but they are copied into itunes.
