Which Jay Cutler will show up in Week 10? (Photo by Elsa/Getty Images) It’s time for another TGIF addition of Deep Sleepers and DFS Bargains. I made good on two of my five picks (Lance Kendricks and Tim Hightower) last week. Let’s try to improve on that and get REALLY deep heading into Week 10.
To review… all of these players are owned in less than sixty percent of Yahoo leagues (at time of writing) and/or are a significant value in our daily game. They’re not the obvious picks, and they’re not without their risks, but that’s why they’re so cheap and available! I’d never advocate taking all of these guys, but rather utilizing them if a manager were in a pinch at a position or aiming to build a “stars and scrubs” sort of DFS lineup.

Jay Cutler, QB, Chicago Bears ($30)
While I’m admittedly still flying high from the Cubbies’ win last week, this pick isn’t steeped in homerism. Cutty came back from a thumb injury (I know, I know) in Week 9 and stunned the usually staunch Vikings into submission, completing 20 passes for 252 yards and a score. While those aren’t QB1 fantasy numbers, it’s worth noting that he didn’t turn the ball over a single time and was only sacked once.
Coming off a bye in Week 9, Smokin’ Jay has had a chance to reacquaint himself with the offense. Additionally, Alshon Jeffery – Cutler’s favorite target – has had some times to freshen up. In 2015, the Bears QB averaged 265 passing yards and nearly 2 TDs each time Jeffery was healthy enough to start.
This week he’ll face off against a Bucs squad that’s giving up the sixth most passing yards per week (281) and that has allowed the fourth most plays over 40 yards (9). Of course John Fox will lean on the run, but with a healthy stable of receivers, and given Chicago’s less than stellar secondary, count on Jay to sling the rock. In a week in which Andrew Luck, Derek Carr, and Matt Stafford are all on bye, Cutty is a widely available (21% owned in Yahoo leagues) streaming option in a solid situation.

Chris Ivory, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars ($14)
With Ivory appearing to be all smash and T.J. Yeldon mostly dash under newly promoted offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, the Jags backfield had a decidedly different complexion in Week 9. Carrying the rock eleven more times than Yeldon (who was utilized in the passing game, catching all five of his targets for 32 yards and 1 TD), the former Jet rushed for over 100 yards on eighteen totes. The seventh most productive fantasy RB in 2015, Ivory is a talented player who, when healthy, can produce.
Leaning on the backfield as a way to advance the offense, rather than relying on Blake Bortles’ regressing mechanics and swirling head, Ivory should continue to see solid volume. His matchup against the Texans – a unit that has allowed the sixth most fantasy points to opposing RBs over the last four weeks – is additionally plumb. In fact, RB1s who faced Houston’s bottom-eight ranked run defense (Theo Riddick, C.J. Anderson, Frank Gore, and Matt Asiata) all put up top-fifteen fantasy stats. At just $14 in DFS and available in roughly fifty percent of redraft leagues, Ivory is top-25 play in Week 10.

Kapri Bibbs, RB, Denver Broncos ($10)
With C.J. Anderson expected out until the postseason, Devonte Booker stepped in as Denver’s workhorse. Except, he didn’t really rise to the occasion, averaging under 3.0 YPC in back-to-back outings. Enter Kapri Bibbs.
An undrafted rookie in his second season, Bibbs is strong like a bull, but not terribly fast or elusive. Still, he flashed in Week 9 @ Oakland, averaging 5.5 YPC and catching his lone target for a 69-yard TD. While the sample size was small (just two carries), Bibbs’ injection of energy appears to have caught his coach’s attention. Early this week, Gary Kubiak announced that the 23-year-old had earned a larger role in the Broncos backfield.
On an offense that’s called the tenth most rushing attempts so far this season, Bibbs should see a big enough piece of the pie to become fantasy relevant in Week 10. Additionally, he’ll be facing a New Orleans rush defense that’s allowing an average of nearly 25 attempts per contest. Playing keep away from Drew Brees and hiding a struggling Trevor Siemian, Bibbs has flex potential in Week 10.

Bryce Treggs, WR, Philadelphia Eagles ($10)
This season I’ve hit on Cameron Meredith, Tyreek Hill, and J.J. Nelson. After all, this column isn’t titled deep sleepers for nothing. In that tradition, I present to you Bryce Teggs. Similar in athletic profile to DeSean Jackson, Treggs adds a much needed speed element to Philly’s receiving corps.
Prior to Week 9, the Eagles had only produced three catches beyond the 40-yard mark. This past Sunday, Treggs produced the team’s fourth, hauling in a 58-yard reception. With Josh Huff cut, and both Nelson Algholor and Dorial Green-Beckham struggling, there is a massive opportunity for Treggs.
That opportunity could come in the form of a big play this weekend at the Meadowlands. Facing a Giants secondary that’s been vulnerable down the field and with offensive coordinator Frank Reich reportedly game planning for the Cal product, Treggs has a better shot of booming than busting this Sunday.

Will Tye, TE, New York Giants ($10)
The G-Men made some effective tweaks coming off their bye. From getting rookie RB Paul Perkins more involved, to stretching the field, to spreading the ball around, the Giants’ offense had their most productive outing of the season in Week 9. Fading Larry Donnell in favor of Will Tye was one of the team’s most obvious changes.
Tye was on the field for 72 percent of New York’s snaps and was second in team targets behind Odell Beckham. While he only caught four of his seven looks for 33 yards, the shift in philosophy and increased volume are important to note. Additionally, the matchup against Philly was tough, as the Eagles are only allowing an average of 29 yards per game to the position. The second-year TE should have an easier go of things this Sunday when he hosts the Bengals who, over the past four weeks, have given up the most fantasy points to the position.
