I was in a parking lot the other day and went to put the car into park (i have a 96 jetta glx automatic) but didn't have my foot fully on the brake. the car came to a jerking stop. it drove okay afterward but the next day i noticed when i tried to accelerate on a hill that it felt like something was stuck behind the gas pedal. nothing is, it just won't let me go any faster. if i put the car in park and rev the engine, it revs like normal and i can get the pedal to the floor. i had a vw jetta before with tranny problems and i remember how it felt in the gas pedal when i was losing the lower gears. this feels different. any ideas on what i did? is this another type of tranny problems? or did i do something else to the car? or could it be it's just acting strange and will eventually stop? other than giving me trouble with accelerating, everything else runs/sounds fine.
