Unisys awards NZTA and McDonald's New Zealand at client and partner event

Unisys Corporation*recognised ten clients and partners with Lighthouse Awards for their vision and leadership in applying modern technologies to mission critical IT challenges. Unisys conferred the awards at its global Universe 2014 client and partner event, being held this week in Dallas.
“We are proud to recognize the vision and innovation of these 10 recipients for the first Lighthouse Awards,” said Quincy Allen, senior vice president and chief marketing and strategy officer, Unisys. “Working with Unisys, these organizations demonstrated true creativity in applying innovative, modern technology to solve real-world mission critical problems, with tangible benefits for their organizations and end users.”
This is the first year that Unisys is recognizing partners and clients as part of the new Lighthouse Client Advocacy Program. Eight of the winning organizations received the Lighthouse Innovation Award, and two received the VIP Channel Partner Award.
The list of this year’s winners includes:

  • Companhia Estadual de Águas e Esgotos (CEDAE): The Brazilian water treatment and sewage utility modernized its IT infrastructure with mobile applications to improve operating speed and customer service.
  • Elekta: The Swedish-based company providing clinical solutions for treating cancer and brain disorders transformed its end-user support through new service desk functionality, including guided self-help and automated services, in addition to end-user support for email, desktop and mobile applications.
  • General Services Administration: This independent agency responsible for managing real estate, acquisition and technology across the U.S. federal government created a dependable, secure, fast, and highly scalable infrastructure to manage its mission-critical functions.
  • McDonald’s Australia and New Zealand: Unisys provides service desk, on-site and remote support services to McDonald’s chain of more than 1,000 company-owned and franchised restaurants across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific region, including point of sale devices, back-office PC equipment, peripherals, wireless networks, customer order display units and cameras.
  • New Zealand Transport Agency: This transport solutions agency modernized the Driver and Vehicle Registry System to enable new online and mobile channels and flexibility to respond to legislative changes more quickly.
  • Roma Capitale: The municipal authority for the city of Rome will migrate part of its applications to the Forward! by Unisys platform to consolidate some of its key applications including electoral data and buildings planning applications.
  • SMS/800: The Toll-Free Number management company for North America adopted a common IT Service Management (ITSM) platform, based on the Edge Service Management by Unisys solution, to integrate delivery of data center, help desk, application software, and website support by multiple business partners.
  • Braxton Grant Technologies (VIP Channel): This leading IT value-added reseller applied the award-winning Unisys Stealth cybersecurity software to secure a Microsoft Windows XP environment for a major chemicals company.
  • RealServeIT (VIP Channel): This solutions consultancy with expertise in application/desktop delivery and management partnered with Unisys to solve mission critical client issues in the networking, security, and virtualization markets.
