So I have a 1998 Dodge Neon Sport, I already have four MTX speakers (plus the two stock dash speakers if you even want to call them speakers) and a Sony Xplod head unit invested in it...
It sounds pretty good as is but I plan on adding an amp and sub(s)... My rear 6x9's push enough bass to rattle all my mirrors but I really want the car to thump though.
Now anyone who owns a first generation (95-99) neon knows that they are built about as well as a soda can so it shouldn't take much to make it sound bad-ass I would think.
My main question is would a 600w amp and a single 12" woofer be enough? Or a 600w w/ two 12's?
I'm on a really tight budget so I'm not trying to go overboard by any means. A friend of mine said not to waste my time unless I got at LEAST a 1000w amp & either two 10's or two 12's but like I said I don't think such a small poorly built /insulated car would need that much but I really have no idea what numbers and wattage's mean when it comes to vehicle systems.
Any help would be appreciated!
