Some of these players here may also appear on the shuffle up version for guards I did last week, but for the purpose of this exercise, I’m going to leave off anyone who’s eligible at center in Yahoo leagues until next week’s reranks at that position to avoid too much overlap in the frontcourt.
Paul George has remained a top-15 player despite shooting 39.9 percent from the floor over the past month. His comeback from such a gruesome leg injury has been remarkable, as he’s averaging career-highs in ppg (23.7), spg (2.0), 3pt (2.9) and PER (20.70). Indiana’s Pace is top-five in the league, and George’s Usage Rate is top-10. The heavy workload may be catching up to him, as George isn’t only dealing with a shooting slump, but he’s also suffering swelling in his surgically repaired leg. The injury is hopefully not serious, and the 25-year-old should be considered a top-10 fantasy player from here on out.
*TIER ONE
1. Kevin Durant
2. James Harden
3. Kawhi Leonard
4. LeBron James
5. Paul George**
6. Jimmy Butler
7. Draymond Green*
8. Klay Thompson**
9. Carmelo Anthony
10. Rudy Gay
11. DeMar DeRozan
Durant has clearly proven to be back to his old self after a serious injury and has been the No. 2 player so far...James’ shooting outside the paint has been among the worst in the NBA, yet he’s still remained a top-12 fantasy asset...Harden has averaged a triple double over the past four games, getting 26.5 ppg, 10.0 rpg and 10.0 apg...Speaking of triple-doubles, Green leads the NBA with eight. He’s been a top-15 player despite averaging a modest 14.7 ppg...Thompson has had an up-and-down season, but he’s second in the NBA in three-pointers made (a mere 71 behind the leader)...Anthony has been even less valuable than he was during last season’s disappointing campaign and is now dealing with a sore left knee. His days as a truly elite fantasy asset might be in the rearview mirror...DeRozan has averaged 28.3 ppg over the last week.
TIER TWO
12. Jae Crowder*
13. Danilo Gallinari****
14. Khris Middleton***
15. Gordon Hayward
16. Giannis Antetokounmpo
17. Chandler Parsons
18. Nicolas Batum
19. Thaddeus Young
20. Tobias Harris
21. Otto Porter**
22. Kent Bazemore**
23. Will Barton*
24. Trevor Ariza
26. Nikola Mirotic
27. Wesley Matthews
Parsons is clearly over his injury and should be a major asset down the stretch. He’s averaged 29.0 points and 4.0 3pt over his past three games...Crowder has been the No. 27 ranked player this season. His ADP was 124...Middleton has been equally as valuable to fantasy owners as Carmelo Anthony this year, and there’s no reason to think he can’t remain a top-50 commodity moving forward...The Greek Freak hasn’t made a huge leap, but it’s clear he’s going to be a star...Batum has been in a major shooting slump and is now dealing with a lingering injury...Harris hasn’t been a top-100 player over the past month...Porter has been a top-50 player and had an ADP of 135...Bazemore has been one of the biggest surprises of 2015/16, while Mirotic has been one of the biggest disappointments.
TIER THREE
27. J.R. Smith
28. Evan Fournier
29. Ersan Ilyasova
30. Omri Casspi
31. C.J. Miles
32. Andre Iguodala
33. Harrison Barnes
34. Marvin Williams
35. Robert Covington
36. Matt Barnes
37. Rodney Hood
38. Kyle Korver
39. Arron Afflalo
40. Jabari Parker
41. Luol Deng
42. Marcus Morris
43. Aaron Gordon
44. Danny Green
45. Andrew Wiggins
46. Kobe Bryant
Fournier’s hot start has slowed, while Ilysova has turned it on lately after a sluggish beginning to the season...Gordon is now starting and needs to be owned in all leagues...Green was a top-25 player last season and is outside the top-175 this year...Everyone loves Wiggins, but his game just simply hasn’t translated to a ton of fantasy value so far during his career. I’m sure that will change, but he’s barely been a top-150 commodity in 2015/16...No player in the NBA has hurt fantasy owners’ FG% more than Bryant, not even Emmanuel Mudiay, who’s shot 32.5 percent from the field.
TIER FOUR
47. Manu Ginobili
48. Thabo Sefolosha
49. Terrence Ross
50. Jared Dudley
51. Courtney Lee
52. Al-Forouq Aminu
53. T.J. Warren
54. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
55. P.J. Tucker
56. DeMarre Carroll
57. Evan Turner
Ginobili is 38 years old and has seen less than 20 minutes per game yet has been close to a top-100 fantasy player...Carroll was a top-55 player in each of his past two seasons in Atlanta, and his move to Toronto and supposed increase in Usage Rate was expected to improve his fantasy value. Instead, he was ranked outside the top-100 before going down with a knee injury that will sideline him for the foreseeable future.
TIER FIVE
58. Jerami Grant
59. Marcus Thornton
60. Mirza Teletovic
61. Tony Allen
62. Iman Shumpert
63. Jamal Crawford
64. Joe Johnson
65. Julius Randle
66. Frank Kaminsky
67. Kevin Martin
68. Dion Waiters
69. David West
70. Larry Nance
Johnson is shooting 39.0 percent from the field this season and has barely been a top-200 player. His ADP was 104...Kaminsky is an interesting add in deeper leagues right now...Martin would vault up these ranks with a trade...Waiters has officially become a bust...Nance can dunk.
