Should i paint my road bike?

Im going to buy black rims for fixie and i have a univega 1970 bike frame and want to repaint it but my uncle told me not to cuz ima take the originality of the bike...wat should i do repaint it or just leave it like that....if i repaint it they dont sell any more univega stickers or do they..idk....plase help me and thanks

If its rusting paint it. If not, just do some touch up. Go with no decals or custom decals with your name or eye grabbing graphics. You can google "decals" and find places that make custom decals.

Please be advised that even basic painting can add up some bucks. Minimum cost would be the old spray can way. I just did an old steel frame Raleigh. I put 3 thin coats of primer and 4 thin coats of finish color. It looks good but the paint is not as durable as a factory coating. It cost about $60.00 including the chemical stripper that I used to prep the frame down to bare metal.
