I found a 2003 VW Passat that I really, really like. It has 120,000 miles on it though. The person said it drives well and doesn't have problems but obviously things happen and from what I've heard that can be very expensive. My dad works on cars and has always done everything for me. I had a 1995 neon and he has done all the mechanics on it. We also have a lumina and he's changed the radiator on my moms 01 eclipse. Are Volkswagens really different and would it still be expensive if he did the work? The guy is asking $5,100 for the Passat. Is it worth it? Or my next option would be a Mazda 3 or 6. Would that just be easier in the long run? Any opinions and suggestions from experience are welcome! Thanks!
