Need help with saving music as a custom ringtone for cingular smartphone 3125?

I have music that I have downloaded on my windows media player that I want to use as a custom ringtone for my contacts on my phone. I don't know of a way to save music as a ringtone under a person's name. My phone is a smartphone 3125.
