DONE DEAL: The San Francisco Giants acquired All-Star infielder Eduardo Nunez from the Minnesota Twins on Thursday night, striking the only significant trade of the day. In return the Twins get Adalberto Mejia, a 23-year-old pitcher who has been among San Francisco’s top-10 prospects for the last few years. [Yahoo Sports]

MORE ON THE TRADE: The Giants plan to use Nunez as a utility infielder, filling in for Joe Panik at second or Matt Duffy at third, both of whom have battled injuries this season. [CSN Bay Area]
