I am looking at getting the following car:

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/dealer/details.aspx?R=10085644&__sid=12E42FF4618E&__Qpb=true&Cr=5&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294965340%20463%20408%20897&PriceFrom=463&PriceTo=408&seot=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&trecs=14&silo=1011

It is a mazda 6 . 2002 GG series 1. I was speaking to a mate and he said you had to be careful because timing belt needs to be changed every 100,000 km's. I just went and saw the dealer and asked him about it and i didnt get a straight answer. The car has also been fitted with cheap diamondback tyres. However, the car overall seems to be in good condition. I was wondering firstly, whether the timing belt fact is true and secondly whether it is a good purchase given the specs?
