A man clinging to a gravel rock face in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area was rescued by a Sonoma Sheriff’s Office helicopter on Sunday, March 31.Dramatic footage recorded by Henry-1, the sheriff’s office’s helicopter unit, shows the man on the cliff face.The sheriff’s office said he had fallen 50-60 feet down from the trail before being able to brace himself against the rock face.The man was first detected on the helicopter’s thermal camera before a Tactical Flight Officer was lowered down for the rescue.The man was flown back to the trail and handed over to the care of the Southern Marin Fire District.His condition was unknown.
