I have T-mobile service and just got a new HTC from At&t that I wanted to unlock.?

I bought the HTC from a pawn shop and wanted to know if its still legal to unlock it as long as I keep using t-mobile (paying monthly). Just wondering because of the JAN 26 law on unlocking.

I currently have a crappy non-smart 2g phone with t-mobile, and my contract is going to expire in a month I'm sure that junk was well-paid for within the first contract year lol.
I also just came back from tmobile to get an upgrade from a 2g sim to a 4g sim....dunno if that makes any diff

The ban on unlocking has been removed and you can unlock your mobile using any third party vendor without any problem. You can approach Wickedunlock.com and get the respective unlock code for your HTC mobile and remove the network lock with AT&T.Once unlocked you can switch to T-mobile network.
