sputters and the RPM's drop until it? dies. It has a v6 4.3 liter. I bought it about a week ago. The dealer told me he just had the fuel pump changed. Also it had a service engine code p1404 which is an egr valve problem. I don't think this problem I am having is due to the egr though. It only started happening last night and today when the weather dropped real cold. The car has 150k miles on it. I tried starting it and cleaning the throttle with carb cleaner. The engine would stay running while i was spraying, but then die when i stopped. I am pretty sure the reason it dies is because it is not getting gas. Anybody know what could be wrong?

Just because the fuel pump was replaced doesn't mean it's any good or was done right. The market is flooded with cheap chinese fuel pumps. You need to check the fuel pressure and see if it's even close to spec.
