Looking at the new G2X specs, it looks identical to some of AT&T's devices'. For example, the AT&T Atrix specs are:
UMTS 850/1900/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, HSDPA up to 14.4 Mbps
Now from the T-Mobile website, the G2X specs are:
850 MHz;900 MHz;1800 MHz;1900 MHz;UMTS/HSPA+: AWS Band IV / 2100 / 1900 / 850
Does this mean I can purchase this phone to use on either network? (T-Mobile will unlock the phone if I pay retail)
I need a flexible GSM phone that I can use unlocked because I travel a lot. AT&T networks are generally more compatible with global networks, but they won't unlock any of their phones. Looks like this G2X might be the ticket. Am I wrong?
