My carrier is AT&T. Currently, I have an unlocked Telus Blackberry Tour and plug in my AT&T sim card. I do this to avoid at&t automatically adding a data plan. I've done this for over a year now all is good. I am looking to do the same with an iPhone. I was going to get an unlocked tmobile iPhone and plug in my at&t sim card. I heard that at&t can only detect the smartphone IMEIs that they have sold. Is this true? And thus, will I be able to use an unlocked tmobile iPhone on att to avoid adding a data plan.
