Having my son's jail time suspended?
My son had a traffic violation that turned into a failure to appear in CA when we moved to Wisconsin. He is 25 years old and returned to CA just to go to court on this matter and get it cleared up. He was fined and made to serve 5 days in jail. The problem is that he wasn't going to be able to serve his jail time until end of Jan 2010, which was 2.5 months later. We don't have the money to fly him back to CA again to have him sit in jail for 5 days. What can I do to try to have his jail time of the sentence suspended. Chances are that he would show up for jail time only to be told the jail is crowded and to let him go, but I can't afford the plane ticket for that.
