i think the pulley is just old and needs lubing or replaced. i know i should just replace it but was hoping some sort of lube could help her

i have the primary cover off of my 1999 1200 sporty. i'm takin the altenator out for replacement. the manual keeps mentioning the [engine sprocket nut] and a special tool to loosen that nut. the book doesn't show exactly which is that nut. i have an idea but still need to figure how to remove...
It looks difficult. It's on the bottom/left of the motor. What type of wrench should I use. Or where can I find some detailed instructions on how to take this alternator out.
