it's only as effective as the person using it, it's better to be well rounded in all areas of fighting than it is to be one dimensional. Therefore cross training, or training for mma is the best training. MMA training consists of strength and conditioning, wrestling, kickboxing, and submissions.

krav maga isn't effective for MMA because Krav Maga is mostly techniques that are illegal in MMA competition. KM is great self defense, and street fighting style. For mma i'd go with muay thai, bjj, boxing, and wrestling.
