THEY say if you will get bored with the 250 after a few months ...
then THEY are not riding it properly..
& if they cant ride the 250 properly what makes them think a 600 would be better

first thing.. remove spark plugs & squirt some WD40 or other very thin lubrication into the bores..
leave overnight... then with plugs still out... put the bike in gear.. try for 3RD.. rock the bike back & forth make sure the engine is turning over...
open up the petrol tank & look...

learn to ride before you upgrade... & the step from your 250 to a 600 sports bike is HUGE...
I would suggest you don't look to a bigger bike for at least the first year..

one that is easy to learn on ... so not a 600cc sports bike.. they are made for the race track & then some bright spark in Japan thought...... We can sell thousands of these to the yanks & kill them that way... much easier than invading again..& we make a profit... win .. win for us

BUY A SECOND HAND 250cc BIKE.. & learn to ride for a year
250cc bikes accelerate quicker than the family V8 car.. & top out at 100MPH..
these are relatively slow compared to 600cc bikes ...a 600cc sports bike will do better than...
5ft6 at age ??? 55 not going to grow any more are we??
at 16-17 .... then you may get a few more inches by the time your old enough to ride a 600cc sports bike...
ninja 250 is reasonably good for the track.. so would the CBR250.
of course it all depends on what class of racing your thinking of entering...
some of the older 250cc 2 stroke bikes are great race bikes as well...
the statements on questions like this particular one always amaze me...
learner rider... going to get bored really fast on a 250cc bike that will do 100MPH & out accelerate the family V8 car..
if you get bored in the first 2 years .... your not riding it properly..

so buy a second hand 250 Ninja... learn to ride for a year or so..chances are you will throw it down the road...so may not be worth much when you sell it..
but if you manage to get through the year & not destroy it then...
when you actually have an idea.. look at a...
if there is more than one carbie... & there is on your bike..
you need a VACUME GAUGE to synchronise them...
so taking them off & cleaning them you can do... then put them back on the bike & take it to the bike shop to get the tune done..
so I am very experienced when it comes to dirt and a little experienced ridding on the street. I am very familiar with the rules of the road and have never gotten a ticket or been in an accident yet.
& all this means to me is that you have been lucky....
BUT.. first off.. look at the cost...

get your licence... buy a bike.. learn to ride..
go through a series of bikes over the next ten years... from 100cc scooters to 1000cc sports bikes.
throw in a few custom bikes & a cruiser or two..
by then you will actually have...
take the bike for a ride before you part with your cash...
even low speed crashes can twist the head stem.. just because it looks straight doesn't mean it is..
when the bike starts shaking its head at 50+ MPH.. the great price wont look anywhere near as good..
