Try again the same time it was downloading before. the seeders probably have there computers turned off because of the time difference. Apps are never seeded as well as films - people do hit and run a lot, look at the most recent comment on the site.
Check the most recent comment about the speed. If the last comment is old it may be a dead torrent, but the ISPs are throttling back torrents. The OS or Torrent client should not make any difference.
Whats dangerous about it is your giving your details to spammers because thats where it will end up including even your mobile number most viruses are pup/malware there sole purpose is to get your personal details so if you complete a survey your doing the job for them.
if you have already capped you upload to 25KB or so increase the priority bandwidth to High and then load and update the trackers every once in a while. Make sure your torrent has a good seed to peers ratio you will only get that low speed if you have less than say 10 seeds on the torrent.
