You shouldn't be unscrewing anything. Just locate the wires leading to the light---turn it clockwise and pull it out. It will be a little hard turning it but it should go with a little force. You may have to push down on a plastic piece near the top. Change to bulb and replace.
Serp belt (50,000 miles), Radiator flush, Trans flush and filter, air filter, check battery. These vehicles pretty much come maintenance free until 100,000 miles.
