Is getting a XviD codec safe?

So I want to watch videos on my computer in AVI format. If I get a XviD codec here http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ will something happen to my computer? I have Norton right now.

Yes it is perfectly safe from that site. That is the site that Microsoft points you to get that codec so it is fine. I have it on all of my computers and haven't had any problems from it.
