    Burn Avi Files to play on xvid player?

    New to converting/encoding. I have coupple of avi movies that i want to be able to play on a Toshiba DVR610(vhs/dvd combo, xvid compatible).

    Question is to what format do i conver them to if i want to burn onto regualar 702mb data cd?
    What format convert to if burning onto a regualr dvd?

    (I tried just burning the avi to cd,wont read)
    Not how to! but what to! Ill do the rest of the research,thanx

    If you're sure the player will play XVID, then you shouldn't need to do any conversion. Just burn the AVI file to the disc. To be sure it works, leave it in root directory (i.e. no subdirs).

    Same with DVD, no conversion should be needed.
