unless the crack was due to a manufacturing defect i doubt that the manufacturers warranty would cover damage...
EDIT- when i had insurance on an old flip phone they would not replace or repair my phone when one of the hinges cracked "unless it affected my ability to use the phone" (make and receive calls)
I have the Blackberry Tour and I just got it a little over a month ago. I don't think I have insurance on it. But I woke up from a nap and my screen looks like it has a crack in it so I can't see the screen.
Will they replace my phone still because I'm under warranty still?
That happened to my phone and they said that Verizon couldnt replace it at the store. I had to order my phone for a fee of 50 even though i was under warranty.
Only insurance will pay for a broken phone. manufacturer warranty does not cover it when there are broken or cracked plastic, liquid damage or any sign of physical abuse....since that would be ...well...abuse.
I would just look up some repair shops, search in google there a some good ones. I had a broken Verizon htc phone and had no insurance. i mailed it to a repair shop .. here is the link Cell Phone Repair Center
