i have a 96 dodge ram 1500 4x4 and the transmission is sliping and poping into reverse(if it even goes in revers) and has problems shifting, iv always wanted a manual truck, and i cant find any like mine for cheap. i was wondering if it was posible to change from automatic to manual transmission, and how much it would cost?
it would cost over 1500$ and yes it is possible.. they would have to install the new shifter.. probably new axles and driveshafts.... clutch and clutch pedal + clutch master cylinder etc etc..... big job you're looking at there
I would recommend a donor truck, there are all kinds of parts you don't even know you will need. A wrecked truck would supply you with the parts you need. Computer, wiring, sensors, pedals, drivelines, cables, linkages, radiator, crossmembers, and like I said earlier parts you don't even know you need.
