JEEP Grand Cherokee worth buying?

I have a Pontiac Grand Prix right now and my lease is almost up. My wife really likes how the Jeep drives but I always like having a car not SUV. How major would the transfer be from a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix to a Grand Cherokee? Also is the Limited the best trim to get. How are they; reliable, safe, fun to drive, all around great SUV? Is it worth buying at such an expensive price? Thanks!
