Jeep Grand Cherokee (LTD) radio problem - just says wait?

Hi,
The radio fitted in my 1997 Jeep Cherokee just shows "wait 2hrs" and then "wait" when switched on. How do I get it to start playing music?? The radio is factory fitted.
