actually, there is something in this riddle that looks fooling. in the statement:"All rooms only $25.00." and they said, "totalling $27.00". since there are three men, there are three $1.00 that should be returned, there should be $3.00 additional to the total, it would be $28.00 instead of $27.00. seems wrong?? think of this, they actually didn't pay $9.00 each, cause 9(3)= 27 and 27 minus 3(for the retur payments) is equal to 24, which is not equal to 25, which is the cost of the hotel per room, where does the fallacy occur?? there are three men, and there is a $5.00 change, can you divide 5 by three?? no, so 9 is not their real contribution in the hotel payment, it should be 9.33. the trick is with the numbers.
