I guess it comes back to the question "IS it better to have loved and lost big time then to NEVER have loved anyone at all"

I think it's better to have loved and lost, because then you would have at least experienced it and had a chance to feel it in your heart. If you've never had it, you'll always wonder...

one sided love means being expendable - i think to feel like that is a total waste, yes.
