Is there any way out of a 3 year contract with telus?

i got a 3 year and my phone stopped working. it was a touch screen and the screen stopped working, dead. ive been using a temporairy phone for a while, but a bully snapped it in half, i can still call and recieve calls (if i put it on speaker i can hear fine, but its not practical) (i got the contract 2 years ago)
but i want a sidekick
but telus is compattable with them
is there any way i can get out of that contract

im 14 and my family doesnt have a big income

You can buy-out the contract or transfer it to someone else (see the sticky), OR you can buy a TELUS Pay&Talk phone from a retailer (Walmart/BestBuy/Futureshop) and have it swapped to your account to replace the broken phone. ANY replacement phone must be a TELUS phone since they will not activate a phone that came from another cell provider.
Next year you can qualify for a new subsidized phone when you negotiate your new contract.
