    Telus Pay And Talk Plan?

I'm buying a cell phone for my Fiancee with Telus, but due to certain things, can't sign a contract for a monthly bill.

Due to this I will be using the pay and talk service. I have a few questions.

    1) What is the general activation fee for the phone?
    2) Will her and I be able to send(anm recieve) text messages?(I already have a monthly plan cell phone myself)
    3) I hear I can get 'add-ons' too the pay and talk service, such as MSN(5$, just like on my monthly bill). How would this work? Would it simply takje 5$ of "pre-paid card" credits from the phone each month?
    4) What if we did not have enoug credits in the account balance, would the MSN simply stop working, or would her phone stop working and be considered 'over-withdrawn'?

    5) Considering we are not singing a contract, do you need to be 18+?

I'm very unsure of how the whole PAT system works...

    1) $10 if you do it online.
    2) Yes, 15 cents per message sent and received.
    3) Pick addons at mytelusmobility.com. Yes, the fee comes off your balance.
    4) When you run out of 'credit' everything stops working.
    5) No.

This should answer most of your concerns...

Most of the ppl I know who are on pay&talk are low volume voice users and moderate texters so it works well for them. Since you are on a postpaid (monthly) plan yourself you may want to add a text plan to your account because doing so makes incoming texts free. Also you say that circumstances prevent you from putting her phone on a contract, have you asked TELUS about the $200 spending cap? It allows ppl with so-so credit to go on a monthly plan.
