Maintain Telus functionality with international SIM

I work in Romania on a 5 week rotation. What I would like to do is take the SIM from my crappy Romanian phone and put it in my Blackberry Tour. If I unlock this phone to use the other SIM while I am out of the country, will my Tour still work when I come home to Canada?
