i found a telus phone blackberry pearl and i want to keep it can i change the esn number or some other to get my own telus deal into it??

If it was reported to TELUS as lost or stolen then it is of no use to anyone because it is now blocked from the system. Changing an ESN is a lot harder than you might think and will cost more than the phone is worth, not to mention illegal. Just take it to a TELUS store and tell them you found it so they can return it to the rightful owner.
TELUS... The Future IS Friendly, just not yet.
