Hello,

I have a Samsung Omnia 2 that is locked to the Bell network but I have a thin cellephane microchip that I place under the Sim card that allows me to use the Telus network. My problem is that I can not get the internet connection to work. Bell won't help at alll and Telus isn't much better the gave me:

Set up your Internet connection
1.Navigate to your device's connection settings menu (menu name may vary by device)
2.Enter the following configuration settings into the appropriate fields:
1.APN: sp.telus.com
2.Proxy server: 74.49.0.18
3.Port: 80

I have tried and tried and can not get it right.

Heres what I've done

1.Settings
2.Advance Settings
3.Connection
4.Connections
5.Advanced tab
6.Select Networks
7.New
8.Enter Name for these settings - I entered "Internet"
9.Modem tab
10.New - I entered "Telus - Internet" & under Selected Cellular Line (GPRS)
11.Then in blank on next screen I entered "sp.telus.com"
12.No password or anything under advanced.
13.then back to step 1 to 4
14.Then Select Edit my Proxy Server
15.Check boxes to connect to internet and fill in blank "74.49.0.18"
16.Set it so this profile I created is the one that is used to connect to the internet.

And after all this it will not connect to the telus internet.
I HAVE FOUND THE SOLOUTION!!!!!!!!!
I DOWNLOADED A PROGRAM CALLED RESCO MOBILE PHONE EDITOR, AND USED THE REGISTRY EDITOR TO LET ME CHANGE THE VALUES THAT PREVENTED ME FROM CHANGING THE BELL INTERNET DATA THAT WAS LOCKED THEN I WENT INTO THE REGULAR PHONE CONNECTIONS AND CHANGED IT TO TELUS SETTINGS THEN BACK TO THE REGISTRY EDITOR AND LOCKED THE NEW SETTINGS.
HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS:
To change the APN (Internet Settings)
You need to download a Registry Editing program like: PHM or Resco

1-Open Registry Editor
2-Goto: HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\My Internet
3-Change Readonly from: 1 to 0

You can go Back-Up the directory and change everything else like:
My ISP
My Connection: Readonly from 1 to 0

You should then be able to Edit the Bell APN Setting.

-Goto: Setting > Click the Advanced Tab
-Click Connection then Connections
-Under “My Internet” click manage my internet connections
-Edit Bell-Internet, change to Telus etc..
-For Telus the Access Point Name
Set up your Internet connection
1.Navigate to your device's connection settings menu (menu name may vary by device)
2.Enter the following configuration settings into the appropriate fields:
1.APN: sp.telus.com
2.Proxy server: 74.49.0.18
3.Port: 80
Setting up Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS)
1.Set up your internet connection using the instructions listed above.
2.Navigate to your device's Messaging menu.
3.Select Multimedia Messaging settings
4.Enter the following Message Centre / MMS gateway information:
5.MMSC URL: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mmsc
The best part is that if I have a problem with my phone I can reset it and bring it in to Bell and get them to repair it (cuz the warrantee is not voided as thanks to my microchip it is not unlocked) and after it is repaired I can put it back to the Telus network(better deals and better customer service than Bell) and Im good to go.
