Does anyone have Telus digital tv?

I have Telus digital tv box with hd channels, I recently bought a Samsung tv. Hooked everything up and can't find the code so I can use only one remote control. Telus tried to help me but then...in so many words....told me I was on my own, here is a list of codes try them all!! The tech also said I should call Samsung to see what the code it, but when I called they said they have no codes ......I managed to find the code for my dvd player and can turn that on and off with my Telus remote but.........I have no idea what channel to turn the tv to so I can watch movies on my dvd player. I have tried channels 3 & 4 with no luck. With my old tv I clicked on aux...then the dvd player worked but not with the new tv...........so what I need to know is if anyone has a Telus digital tv/hd box and can tell me how to run my dvd player....when I turn the dvd player on I can see it is playing and can see the timer working but can't figure out where to watch it....any help please??
