HD Programming in 44 Million Homes by end of 2008 [High Def Delight]

A recent study shows an estimation that by the end of 2008, 44 million homes in the world (four percent of the entire population) will “actively watch HD programming.” Informa Telecoms & Media said that a major reason why the amount of HD programming watched will increase by two percent around the world is because “set and set-top box prices have fallen substantially in the last two years.” North America has had the highest adoption rate of HD because of both the lower-priced equipemnt as well as “the picture and audio quality of standard definition (SD) programming is relatively poor.” Some could also argue that content in SD isn’t as good as that that’s available in HD… Just saying.
