It’s a fact of life if you’re in this biz, you get scooped. Happens to me a lot, darn sleep always gets in the way, but I take it in stride. I figure I can benefit from other folks’ wisdom and do a wrap up post.
Clearly, this is touchy subject for some folks. Uber-blogger Erin Kotecki Vest, saying she’s “just a mommyblogger” is just not fitting–Erin rocks, called out Arrington and
Techcrunch that
Mashable posted China blocking CNN.com before he did. I guess Mike didn’t like it, cause
he blocked her from Twitter. Hmm, maybe we should block him? I haven’t had to block anyone from Twitter, yet,and I’m getting a thicker skin (less swearing at the screen now).
I think,Mike, you could learn something from Erin. Hell you should
hire her, but that’s another story. I
love her cutting wit, sense of humour, and savvy. Like this snappy closer to her post:
In fact, you might even lose touch so very much that you have a party with a beauty blog, having really done nothing with the actual majority of women occupying this whole social media, blog, web 2.0 thing you keep reporting on.
In short, Mr. Arrington, it may serve you well to take a few cues from old school media. They might be an aging dinosaur, but they at least know how to handle getting scooped. If anyone needs anything else, I’ll be reading Mashable. Pete is much more handsome anyway, and since it’s clear on the web all that matters are looks, I might as well subscribe over there. I guess if wittle Mikey can’t take it …
Thanks to
Colleen for passing this along.
