    For those that have Cingular/AT&T...?

Can you exchange a phone for a new phone for free?

I want to exchange my RAZR to get a new phone, but I don't know if you can exchange a phone for a new one for free.

You can if you're still on a warranty.

The new phones are free on the condition that you use them for the period of your contract, maybe two years. Otherwise there will be a charge involved. Nothing is free.

    yes you can.
but you have to wait a certain amount of time, usually a year/year ina half
BUT they renew your contract when you do, so be warned.
there should be an "upgrade phone" option on your account front page, just click it to see if you are available to get a new free phone and if your not it should tell you when you are.

    Nope,
You cant do that... at least not that I know of.
And its like me trying to trade my old car for your brand new one. lol you probably wouldnt do that.
You can try to report it stolen and when they get you a new one ask if you can pay the left over amount for the new phone you want.
