Thread: Question about at&t fromally known as cingular's service agreement?

ok, im bout to set up a new cell phone with AT&T and im actually reading the service agreement before a go through with it and in the agreement is says "Except as provided below, monthly service and certain other charges are billed one month in advance, and there is no proration of such charges if service is terminated on other than the last day of your billing cycle" now to me its saying that if my cycle is from lets say december 5 to january 5 they will send me a bill on december 5 charging me for the cycle of december 5 to january 5, even though my cycle isnt over yet. is that what it means? any at&t fromaly known as cingular customers please explain this to me, cuz ive heard and read alot of complaints from people who have said they have been double billed or double charged by at&t formaly known as cingular and were expected to pay 2 bills. thnx a million!

You have it right... and I think all the cell phone companies do this. My cycle is from the 3rd of the month to the following 2nd of the month. Lets look at my last month: My cycle was Nov 3rd to Dec 2nd. I got a bill on Dec 10th that included any "CHARGES" (such as text messaging, min overage - anything like this) PLUS my normal monthly access fee for Dec 3rd through Jan 2nd. So you are paying for the coming cycle - but just the normal standard basic monthly fee - and then any additional charges you rang up in the previous cycle. Does that make sense? Like I said I think they all do it that way.
