Problems with a Cingular phone and T Mobile Sim Card

I bought an unlocked cell phone from ebay that said it was for T mobile. I put the SIM card in and it is showing my number and I can make and receive calls however everything on the phone stilll says Cingular??? How do I get it to switch over to T Mobile and get my T Mobile settings and MY Faves???
I really dont want to call T Mobile if someone has a better way I would appreciate hearing it. Thank you
