I'm upgrading my Cingular phone, but want the LG Dare. Can I buy a LG Dare and have
it unlocked for Cingular? Can I have my cake and eat it too?

No. They work on different networks. At&t/ cingular has the LG VU.

I once had a sidekick and unlocked it to work with cingular. I hated it most of the features didn't work and i couldn't get on the interent. I suggest you just get a cingular phone or switch to verizon.
