I'm planning on starting a plan with att because I want the iphone 3g. Is it worth

it? I currently have the sidekick 2008 with t-mobile. As much as I pay for their data service, it totally sucks! I'm so fed up with tmobile and I want to switch to att for the iphone. I would like to know how much will they charge me when i open my contract. (The phone and activation). Will they include that in the first bill or will i pay upfront?
