i plugged it in the usb port on my pc and it wont recognize it...is there a trick ?

Yes. You have to install ActiveSync. Coz all Windows Mobile phone require ActiveSync to be recognized. You can download ActiveSync here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync-register.mspx
After installed it, I think you might have to restart your pc. Then plug your phone to your pc. It should recognize it. Just follow the instruction. The name of your phone folder should be Mobile Device. Hope this would help.
