How do I send e-mail w/outlook express & att-yahoo outgoing mail server? Error
Number: 0x800CCC78? Hello there, I get this notorious error:
"The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address ... Response: '553 From: address not verified; see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/manage/sendfrom-07.html', Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC78"
I used to be able to send using outlook express just fine. At one point a few months ago it stopped working, but I changed the port to 465 and it worked again. Now it's stopped. I followed the directions on the page linked from the error message (added e-mail to options) but it does no good.
Here is how my outlook express is configured:
- outgoing mail server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
- outgoing mail server requires authentication; I use my att.net e-mail & password.
- outgoing mail server: 465 (also tried 25 and 487). I have tried both checking the "requires SSL" box and unchecking it.
Please help!! Any suggestions appreciated, but no canned responses please
