Thread: Can't get text package from AT&T becuz i'm on an old Cingular plan?!?!?

Ok so has this happened to anyone else and what do u guys suggest i do.

Before the merger i was with Cingular on their prepaid plan for $49.99. This plan came with unlimited night and weekend minutes. Now that same plan thru AT&T is limited to 3000 night and weekend minutes. I really like/need the unlimited minutes on my old plan but now i have been informed by AT&T, when i tried to add one, that i couldn't get ANY text package added to my account because i am on an old plan. They actually told me i could keep the old plan but i had to upgrade to a new plan to get a text package!!!

Needless to say i was/am outraged. So now i am wondering if anyone else out there has run into this issue and if so what did u do? I don't want to go to the new $49.99 plan if it sacrifices my unlimited nights and weekends. Texting is also killing me tho and i want to get that 1000 texts for $9.99 package. Help!!

unfortunately the only thing is to suck it up and trade one for the other. the only other option is to switch providers.

I would say forget about them and get verizon. They have a lot better plans and phones as well as service.
