can you use a unlocked iphone with a att plan that is not a iphone att plan?

i want to know if you can unlock it and use the iphone with the att plan that is not the iphone att plan that your supposed to get when u purchase the iphone locked because right now i have a blackberry curve and use a family plan with att and was wondering if i put the sim card in my curve into the iphone will it work and if not can i unlock the phone to make it work

no you cant they ll automatically know that you are using iphone but you can try with t mobile or some other phone company.
