Can I buy an iPhone without signing up for Cingular/AT&T?
My friend who is in another country wants to have iphone and since it's really expensive there (about $1000) he wants me to buy it for him but i don't knw if i can buy it without signing up for Cingular /AT&T. Does anyone know anything about that?

No you can't buy it without a contract thank god I got mine when it first released but you can get one on ebay unlocked for like 500-600 dollars
