Thread: How do you add highlights to a braided hair style?

I am getting my hair braided in micro braids and I want to add highlights to the style. The main color is 4 and the highlight color is 27 (strawberry blondish). What is the best way to have the braider add the highlighted color? Would it be 1)random, 2) every other braid 3) one row one color, the next row another color and alternate?

It usually takes 3 packs of hair to braid my hair so I was thinking 2.5 packs of 4 and a 1/2 pack of 27.

I'm not really going for a particular look. I would just like the highlights visible if I wear the hair down. If I were to pull it into a ponytail or bun only the different colored ends of the hair would be visible. My real hair is dark brownish and I don't want the roots of any of the braids that have the blonde braided with it to be visible; meaning you know how it looks when someone with black hair gets blonde braided and it is the weird two toned thing- I don't want that showing.

I use the same colour ! but i have a layer of 6 in it too and my underlayer is 27 ( Clip In not braids )
I'd go for random, as the every other braid would look a bit odd.
