How can i style my hair for school?

My hair's shoulder legnth, and afro.

I straighten it because i cant STAND my afro.

Its very thick when straightened, and i cant be bothered to straighten it every day, so i stick to once a week.

It tends to go kinky (but not full out frizzy) and its not a problem, but when my fringe/bangs go frizzy, i get problems.

How can i style my hair? I need something fast and easy! I'm not AT ALL girly. Something messy looking would be cool!

    Thanks!
    Rach
